Our office is committed to care and compassion for our patients. We strive to provide excellence with attention to detail and use of current treatment modalities. We have a philosophy of conservative treatment whenever possible realizing that preventive care is the best treatment.
We understand that many people have anxiety about dental treatment, so we create a soothing environment and a scheduling system that strives to keep your wait to a minimum. We are passionate about ESTHETIC DENTISTRY and work with patients to create natural form, function, and color. By combining the latest technology with traditional techniques and partnering with the best dental specialists and laboratories in the area, we have confidence in our comprehensive treatment.
Always aware of the need for HOLISTIC DENTISTRY, we use composites and sealants that are free of BPA; we use no city water in our hand pieces...only distilled and bottled water; we use digital impressions and bites whenever possible; our digital x-ray system has the least radiation exposure and environmental impact possible; and we are continuously learning the many ways that holistic dentistry can be implemented.

Mindy Heller, RDH
I started working for Dr. Burke in 1997 after graduating with high honors from The Pennsylvania State College of Technology. I feel so blessed to be here and could not imagine a better or more positive working environment. I respect the knowledge, kindness, and excellent skill of our doctors that enables us to provide the best dental care possible. It is very gratifying for me as a hygienist, to give care to my patients in a calm and caring atmosphere where their comfort and wellbeing is the main concern. I love making patients feel at ease by building confidence, trust and friendship with each appointment. I am extremely devoted to educating patients on their individual needs. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing results in my patients, as their oral and overall health improves. I am also the mother of two beautiful children. In my free time you will find me cheering for my son at his soccer or lacrosse game, or at a dance competition for my daughter. On the weekend I enjoy going to the beach with my family and also running races with my husband.
Dana Ferret-Zamora, RDA
I have been working in this practice since 2013 and, before that, I had more than 6 years of experience in this field. I take pride in making our patients feel relaxed and comfortable so they always have a positive dental experience. Working alongside Dr. Burke has given me an opportunity to learn and grow as an assistant. I enjoy working with our staff. We always have a fun time at work and make a great team. Every one pitches in to help each other so that the patients have the best treatment possible.
Outside the practice, I enjoy spending time with my husband and spoiling my niece and nephews.
Barbara Somogyi, Office Manager
I was born and raised in New York City and worked for many years as an editor for a variety of journals and newsletters including Commodity Newsletter for Merrill Lynch, engineering journals for IEEE, and college textbooks at McGraw Hill. With this career I was able to work from home while raising my children. When my children went off to college, I was looking for a change and was given the wonderful opportunity of working in this office. At this time I focus on helping patients navigate through their dental insurance benefits and I work with our very capable staff in creating a smooth dental experience for our patients.
After working for years with books and journals, I like the ability to interact with people. In this field I am able to help make a difference in the lives of our patients and in the quality of our work environment.
I have been active at the Yoga and Healing Center in Scotch Plains for many years. I enjoy spending time with my son and daughter and my pets. I also love traveling and reading.
Denise Sharkey, RDH
In high school, I became interested in Dentistry and started working as a dental receptionist and assistant. In 1975, I graduated from dental hygiene school (the same year that Dr. Burke graduated from dental school). I like the challenge of bringing the teeth and gums back to health. It is like being a detective at times, trying to discover why a problem is occurring and what are the best ways for the patient and our team to achieve a healthy mouth which promotes a healthy body. I do the best job that I can in a gentle, encouraging way. I enjoy treating my patients; they become like family to me. I am so thankful to be a part of Dr. Burke's office. There is an atmosphere of excitement and love for dentistry here. Dr. Burke and her associates employ new procedures that help them to practice excellent dentistry. They enjoy the challenge of difficult cases and work together to give each patient the best outcome possible. I have been employed at the office since 2010 and find our staff is very caring and organized. We all work together well.
Onika Johnson, RDA
I have been a registered dental assistant since 2003 in a variety of offices. I started with Dr. Burke 3 years ago and I appreciate the quality of the work and the amount of time devoted to each patient. The atmosphere in the office is welcoming and warm. We all get along well with each other and work well together which makes me look forward to coming to work every day. I trust all the doctors here; I recommended my sister to come here as she was very apprehensive about dentistry and she is very happy with her new dentist, Dr. Kobos.
Nervous and anxious patients find that in this office they are comfortable with these dentists and in the end leave with more confidence regarding treatment. The doctors care enough to get to know each patient individually and treat them accordingly.
I have a young son who keeps me very busy!!! I like music and dancing.
Lynn Lynch, Receptionist
I started in dentistry in high school training on-the-job after school and on Saturdays. I found the work interesting and loved the patients. All these years later, after working in a variety of offices in dentistry and other medical fields, the best part of my job is making a difference in the lives of the patients. When I came to this office on Valentine's day in 2011, I was already experienced as a dental office receptionist. I fluctuate from full time to part time as needed in the office. The best part of the job is keeping up with the lives of the patients and their families, watching them grow, and sharing their life experiences.
Sitting at the front desk I get a lot of feedback from the patients. Often they comment about the comfortable surroundings and the soothing feel of the office waiting rooms and treatment areas.
I have enjoyed watching my sons play soccer and baseball through high school and college. My daughter teaches kindergarten so I am the lucky grandmother who is able to spend most school days with my 2 grand babies. I enjoy baking and cooking.
Rachel Benko, RDH
I have over many years of experience in the dental field starting in 2003, as a registered dental assistant and then studying to become a registered dental hygienist. I am dedicated to providing quality patient care, and working at Dr. Burke's office has encouraged that. I appreciate the relationships I have formed with patients and my co-workers in this office
I enjoy my friends and family outside of the office. I also spend time as an animal activist and free-lance artist.
Danelly Aristizabal, CDA
I have worked in dentistry since 2006. In 2016, I started at Dr. Burke's office as the newest member of our dental team and as Dr. Gregory Josephsen's Dental Assistant. With every patient, my desire is to provide a calm and peaceful experience. Alongside Dr. J my goal is to learn and continue to grow while meeting and getting to know our great patients. I have previously studied general science at ECC. I continue to study and practice my skills so that I can excel in my field.
When I am not helping patients, on my free-time, I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling.
Katherine Hamby, Receptionist
I was born in England and moved to New Jersey in the early 2000's. I attended the Art Institute of New York focusing on culinary arts. I moved to Fanwood with my family in 2010 and began working for Dr. Burke in 2013. I have developed wonderful friendships with the staff as well as with our patients and community. I'm proud to say that I am the mother of two beautiful children Tyler and, our newest addition, Grayson. I also teach Pole fitness and a Yoga class in my spare time.
